Adoption Stories

Back when I was stationed in Australia during WWII, I gave $1 (American) to a fund to conserve the environment for kangaroos. Since then, I’ve received 187,543 snail mail requests for money for fauna on Earth and Mars. Ninety-nine percent of them show pictures of horrible treatment of all forms of fauna, including kids trying to burn ants with magnifying glasses. Tortured donkeys, tortured horses, killed elephants, caged starving whatevers, and some weird thing on Mars that is being ill-treated.

Is there no good news? Yes, there is. This page is going to be devoted to pictures of animals that have been adopted from our humane society. This is GOOD news. Since I care for cats at our humane society, these are pictures of cats who were adopted to good homes. For dog lovers, you can assume there are dogs also being adopted.

  • This is Phineas, a one year old ginger cat that was brought to the shelter for reasons unknown. He is sweetheart who loves to be rubbed and give people head butts. He was at PetSmart for almost two months before he was adopted. He now has a forever home.

  • This is Noel. She was eight months old when placed at PetSmart. Like Phineas, she was there almost two months. She is a very lovable kitten who wanted to be in a lap, and loved rubs on each side of her face and under her chin. She was a people cat, but did not enjoy other cats. Happily she has a forever home making an owner very happy

  • Bunny and Oscar are brother and sister and each is 1 year old. Since they have been together for so long, they needed to be adopted as pair. Here is a picture of either Oscar or Bunny. You could not tell them apart without checking their body parts. The Great News is someone adopted them both. They are both super-sweet kitties and it is wonderful they are together in forever home.

This is Travor (standing) and LewLew. Both are 3 years old, not siblings but friends. They are camera shy because they are wanted in three states for passing bad checks. (For young people: checks were a paper Venmo.) Despite their criminal activities, they just got adopted together. They are both very lovable cats. I will miss taking care of them.
